What is Gold Vermeil?
Gold Vermeil, pronounced “ver-may”, is the most refined alternative to solid gold jewelry. It consists of a thick layer of 18k gold - at least 2.5 microns - electroplated onto a sterling silver base. This is what sets it apart from regular gold-plated jewelry, where cheaper metals and thin layers can quickly fade or peel.
